In this workshop we will remember the definition of CVI according to Dra. Roman – Lanzy, the 3 phases in  which we can identify our kids, and the 10 characteristics to design tailor made strategies.

We will analyze a case to determine the CVI phase and design support strategies. We will finally write the child’s unique communication passport for all the different specialists.

This practical workshop will explore the different reasons that we communicate. We will look at how we can use communication functions to set goals, plan teaching, & modeling & engage the learner with their AAC.

Engagement in motivating activities is the best way to develop the switch skills required to communicate using AAC. We'll explore existing activities and brainstorm new ones to be added to an activity book, organised into a new easy-to-follow framework which enables switch users to make fast progress towards greater inclusion.
