We will examine how Proloquo, Proloquo2Go and Proloquo4Text are optimised for use with the Hiru eye-gaze device and the flexibility this affords our end users.

Self-determination refers to our ability to make decisions about our identities and our future, defining for ourselves who we are and who we want to be without the control of external people or forces. Deciding on our future or our current situation in work, school, or social contexts is possible thanks to high technology for AAC, computer control, and environmental control. In this collaborative and interactive workshop, we will analyze tools that will enable individuals to have maximum control over their lives, and discuss and report what is yet to improve.

Hiru, together with the new version of iPadOS, iPadOS 17, brings a real revolution for accessibility, especially for eye gaze users. Now, it's easier than ever to use an iPad with the eyes, and this opens huge possibilities to everyone. In this workshop we’ll see how to leverage Apple accessibility tools to create the best user experience for each individual with the IRISBOND Hiru eye-tracker. Hiru is the first multiplatform eye-tracker in the world that works in Windows and iPadOS, indistinguishably, meaning it is adaptable for all.
We’ll explore what’s new with the new version iPadOS17, tips for fast success, and recommended apps with eye gaze in mind.

Enjoying the shared reading of a deliberately chosen story brings forth a myriad of benefits. The opportunity to select the content, to dramatize the story, to invent alternative endings, or describe the characters, among other things, provides a source of learning and enjoyment for the child.

In this collaborative and interactive workshop, we will analyze all these aspects, provide resources to meet these objectives, and use specific high-tech AAC tools to experience it.

EYE play, EYE imagine: let’s design 100% inclusive toys

The development of play in children with communication and motor challenges encounters constant barriers. To break them down, we must offer the child opportunities for participation, a universally designed and accessible approach to play situations, and sensitize the individuals
within the person's environment.

This collaborative and interactive workshop will allow us to analyze the possibilities within our reach, examine everyday games and toys, adapt access to some toys and imagine with an out-of-the-box approach.

In this collaborative and interactive workshop, we will discover the most innovative developments being made in AI and how they contribute to humanizing critical aspects in the AAC field.
